Cauliflower-Chia Pudding

This recipe is delicious, easy to digest, and packed with goodness.

Also, very very easy to make!

Ingredients

  • 4 tbs chia seeds
  • 1/2 package of riced cauliflower
  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk/tea/kombucha/or just water
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 2 tbs chopped walnuts/or pecans
  • 1 tbs pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tbs raw almond butter
  • Dash of cinnamon, cumin and turmeric (you may want to add a pinch of black pepper to enhance absorption)
  • 1 ts cacao powder (optional)
  • 1 small apple or pear (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup of fresh blueberries/or raspberries
  • 1 ts of green powder (if you want to sneak in more greens)
  • 1 chopped zucchini

You can also add nutritional yeast or bee pollen (for extra protein and vitamin B complex)

Instructions:

  • Soak the chia seeds in your liquid of choice for about 20-30 min.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
  • Enjoy!!=)

Easy Plant-Based Dips To Make At Home

These dips are easy to make, rich in fiber and also high in protein.

Black Bean Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 cans of organic black beans
  • Handful of fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 ts apple cider vinegar
  • 1 ts liquid aminos/tamari sause/sea salt
  • Mint leaves
  • 1 ts of avocado oil
  • Dash of black pepper, cumin and turmeric

Instructions

1). Rinse the beans in water

2) Blend the ingredients and store in your fridge.

3) Dip with baby carrots, chopped zucchini or gluten-free crackers.

Pea Dip

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of frozen sweet peas (leave them in your fridge to melt first)
  • 1/4 cup of hemp seeds
  • 4 tbs of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbs mustard
  • 1 tbs tahini
  • 1 ts sea salt
  • 4 tbs nutritional yeast

Blend together and enjoy.

Spicy Carrot Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 p. baby carrots
  • 1 small zucchini
  • 1 ts chilli flakes/cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 walnuts/or cashews (soak them first in water)
  • 1 tbs flax seed
  • 1/2 cup almond milk/water
  • Dash of cumin and ginger

Blend together and enjoy.

Raspberry Tofu Yogurt*

  • This recipe tastes like frozen yogurt (for reals!!) and is completely dairy-free!

Ingredients

  • 1 block of silken tofu
  • 1 p. frozen raspberries
  • 4 medjol dates
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk
  • 1 ts. flax seed (as a binder)
  • Vanilla extract
  • 1 tbs collagen powder (Optional!)

Blend together and place in your fridge,

If you want to build healthy habits around food, what you eat is only a tiny part of the big picture.

How do we “Honor Hunger”?

  • Tune into your internal signal that the body needs nourishment.
  • Recognize hunger – learn the signs.
  • Create an intuitive inner scale from 1-10.
    • 1 is just noticing hunger, 10 is starving
  • Start to plan for food when you are at a 2.

How do we “Honor Fullness”?

  • Create a fullness scale from 1-10.
    • 10 is stuffed, 1 is still starving
  • Aim for an 8 on the fullness scale – nourished and energized, satiated but not stuffed.

I suggest that your follow these guideline for at least 3 subsequent days and observe what happens!

How To Know If You Are Ready For A Change: 3 Major Signs To Look For

T.S. Eliot said it so eloquently:

“The end of all exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”

Life is an odyssey and we are meant to change our environment (every so often) in order to grow, learn and explore different sides of ourselves, and of the world around us.

If you are currently at a phase in your life where you feel as it is about time for you to venture out of your comfort zone and move on with your life, this self-check list is designed to help you decide whether or not it is time for you to make a change.


3 major signs you’re ready to move on (or move out from your current life situation):

1️⃣ You no longer relate to your current environment

Whether it’s your home, your job, the relationship you’re in, even your town (or country): something in your life feels out of sync with your goals for the future. But to know confidently what you truly want, you should be very very honest with yourself and create a plan.

Now please take a pen and paper and write it all down: imagine how do you want your life to look like six months from now, one year from now, and a couple of years from now? Will staying where you are move you closer to where you want to be, or shift you backwards? And how would that feel? In both situations.

2️⃣ You intuitively feel that life has plans for you and that you can’t optimize them fully if you don’t make a major leap forward.

It’s simply not possible to stay where we are and simultaneously move forward. Marching in one place doesn’t shift us from where we are. And it doesn’t give us clarity either. Thinking and planning our next move is crucial, and you need to be mindful and strategic about it. Often, the actual execution may take longer than you desire. However, despite how long it takes, change comes from engagement, not just thought. 

My favorite motto (that always pushes me through stagnation): “If you want something you‘ve never had, you must be willing to do something you‘ve never done.’

3️⃣You constantly receive signs from the Universe that is time for you to change your life.

  • Perhaps you keep stumbling over new job offers
  • Perhaps you frequently bump into quotes or sayings (or even blogposts like this one) that motivate you to seize change
  • Perhaps you frequently find yourself scrolling on social media (or pininterest) looking for home interior, or travel destinations, or different job alternatives
  • Perhaps you see ads for educational programs that align with your true passions in life
  • Perhaps a friend recommends you a book or podcast that resonate with your current situation, and inspire you to take action
  • Your gut “tells” you.

Whatever it is, go for it. Your intuition knows best. Trust your gut, trust the Universe, and trust that there is no “right” time to make a change. It will always be “now”.

Why Dieting Never Works

Hello Beautiful Soul!:)

If you landed on this page, it is probably because you have tried dieting before and it hasn’t worked. Not only that, most likely dieting left you feeling more frustrated than ever, and utterly demotivated to try it again. Why? Because dieting is never the answer. But I completely understand, because I have been there myself! And I was completely lost, until I learned how to rephrase the question from: “how can I lose (more) weight” to “how to love myself and nurture myself,” and, as a result, restructure my whole mentality about food and exercise. What helped me heal from years of battling body dismorphia and chronic under-eating was the epiphany that, in order to fix my obsessions with food, I needed to heal my relationship to my body first and develop an internal confidence that doesn’t depend on external validation.

Once I aligned my internal confidence to my external projection, everything else naturally settled into place. I learned how to nurture myself properly, to maximize my fitness and mental performance, and how to become more peaceful and mindful with regular meditation practice.
